Michael Alarcon got his start writing and publishing a small magazine called "titmouse" while in college during the heady mid-‘90s. The editor-in-chief of the "OC Weekly" picked up a copy of "titmouse" at a coffeehouse, sent Alarcon a letter (this was before e-mail, mind you) and offered him an editorial position on the strength of what he read. Alarcon quit his job at the bank the day after he got that letter and immediately began writing and editing for the "OC Weekly" and eventually the other publications found on his resume page. Yes, the word resume is perfectly acceptable without accent marks.
